Oscars: Bright pink lips, as worn by Sandra Bullock, Vega Farmiga and Maggie Gyllenhal

I told you bright lips have become a classic. (I also showed you when I was on The Circle.) And nothing like the biggest red carpet even of the year to prove it, ay bro. Here are a few of the Big Names wearing a delicate-yet-punchy fuchsia pink lipstick, some matching it with their dress, some absolutely not, but in each case, I think you’ll agree Miss SANDRA BULLOCK (Blindside), Miss VERA FARMIGA (Up in The Air) and Miss MAGGIE GYLLENHAL all pull of bright lips with class and sass.
First, Miss FARMIGA, who has gone all out with a tiered, pink, ruffled gown, and then gone a little bit further than all out by adding a matching lipstick. I think it’s a very youthful look, but I am not entirely convinced the shimmering blue shadow was required. A little liner wing would have been a little more elegant in my mind.

Then there is Lady of the Night, Miss Rom-come Razzie come Oscar buzzy, SANDRA BULLOCK (I’ve seen Blindside and it was rubbish, but she is adorable in it. I generally and genuinely think she is excellent) who teamed a chic, champagne-toned lace and silk number with this fun lip. Interesting move, but one I obviously applaud… She certainly does look fresh in this pink tone doesn’t she? And while I might say I would’ve stayed more nudey-dusty-pink on the lip, I salute her bold move and think it’s actually far, far better. Kind of reflects her in a way, she’s the gal who can’t resist chucking a bit of fun into everything she does. Lipstick included.

Finally, there is the beautiful MAGGIE G, who is wearing one of her signature quirky dresses and I wish to put it on record that I thoroughly appreciate and recommend a rich blue sartorial backdrop to a pink lip.

Nic, huh?
So versatile, this magenta-based pink.
Here are some options for you to try, so you too can look Oscarishy:
Michael Kors Lip Sheen SPF 15 in Bungalow Pink
L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Moisturising Lipcolour in Rose Creme
Rimmel Moisture Renew in Funtime Fuchsia.
Who do you think looks best with bright chops?

Maggie looks amazing and so does Sandra, but I don’t really like her hair. She did win the Oscar though which is well deserved=)

Maggie G- the pink is a delight, but the eyes look perfect as well, being set off as they are by that delicious Dries Van Noten dress. Amahzing.
