LMFF: Gilded skin and flowing, grown-up Cheergirl hair

I have just landed in Perth (first time! cherry popped!) and I have to say that three hour time change has knocked me off my little perch. I’ve been unperched in Perth. I’m here, of course, for the great milkshakes. And also the Perth DJ’s Look Book events, tonight and tomorrow morning. But first! Runway Four from LMFF - a very tasty, golden luxe look indeed.

Here’s the look:

And here’s how it looked on the runway… (Better, in my opinion, more expensive and lush and foxy.)

And here's what RAE was thinking: "This is young and fun and fresh and beautiful.  The gold on the eye isn't flat, as metallics can be, because it has been sculptured. There's brown kohl for definition on the outer corner and add depth. All the shadow and liner was kept to the top, which lifts the eye, and as well as the nude soft lip and those lovely bronzey, highlighted cheeks, it's all just so luminous and dewy."

And here is your how to:

Face:
Using L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup, $29.95 dot on the face with a makeup sponge. Focus on the forehead, nose and chin and blend well.

Take the L’Oreal Paris True Match Touche Magique Concealer, $25.95 and apply it to any stubborn blemishes that need extra coverage, and under the eye area for illumination. Gently blend the concealer in with your ring finger or a concealer brush.

Let the foundation and concealer sink in, then set with L’Oreal Paris Translucide Naturally Luminous Loose Powder for a flawless finish.

Finish off by sweeping L’Oreal Paris Glam Bronze Minerals in Blonde, $28.45 along the cheekbones for defined cheeks and subtle shimmer.

Eyes:
This look is about enhancing the eyes with clean lines and subtle shadowing. Line your eyes using L’Oreal Paris Infallible Eyeliner in Chocolate Addiction, $22.95 by dotting it into your lash line for a precise, natural line.

Now create a defined, wide eye look with L’Oreal Paris Color Appeal Trio Pro in Golden Fidelity, $22.95. Sweep the darkest shade (colour 1) along the upper and lower lash line. Next, apply colour 2 across the eye lid, blending it into the outer corner of the eye socket. Finally apply colour 3, the lightest shade, under the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eyes as a highlighter. Now, dust L’Oreal Paris Face & Body Powder in Gold, $29.45 along the brow bone for a luminous sunset sparkle.

Finish the look off by applying L’Oreal Paris Double Extension Renewal Serum (inside Mascara in Black) to your lashes for nourishment and separation.

Lips:
Create sunkissed nude lips with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lipstick in Golden Toffee. Using a lip brush, apply the colour base first and let it dry, then apply the top coat. Done!

As for that hair… it was done by L’Oréal Professionnel hair director, Brad Ngata.

“This girl has the right style and the right attitude,” says Brad. “It’s the Preppy Sloane Ranger persona, the upper middle-class youngsters hanging out in London’s Sloane Square, or thereabouts…. The hair look is a classic down style, injected with plenty of body and movement through the mid lengths and ends. The accent of the look rests on the gorgeous sweeping fringe that is loosely pinned above the ear. This look is a great way to add a fringe if you’re not brave enough to cut one!” Damn skippy, Brad.

And how do we copy?

1. Prep the hair once with tecni.art Full Volume Extra and then again with tecni.art Volume Lift, $22.95.

2. Blast hair dry to about 80% so there is enough moisture left to then be blow dried with a medium round brush.

3. Section the hair from ear to ear. Starting at the back section, begin with a section of hair at the nape that is the same thickness and width in size.

4. Using a medium round brush, roll the hair up and apply heat with the dryer. Next, switch to the cold button on your hair dryer. This will set the movement in the hair. Unravel your brush to see that a big bouncy curl has been formed. Spray with Elnett, $19.95 to set the hair in place.

5. Repeat the process until all the hair has been dried.

6. At the front, direct the hair back by combing with your fingers. Next create a side part and then take a horse-shoe section of hair and gently backcomb the front lengths. Sweep the hair across the face and pin back loosely, on the opposite side of the parting, twist the section back slightly before you pin.

DONE.
And how delicious.
Do you like this look? Is it your bestest yet?

very nice! I love how there’s something iconically australian about this look, must be the golden girl next door vibe I’m getting from it. And it’s definately more wearable than the other trends.
