A non-drying, anti-aging lipstick in sweet musky pink: WIN

It is no secret that I am quite fond of a musky pink lip. (Unless you work for the Nude Lip Society, in which case it definitely is. You guys are maniacs! You slash my tyres if you catch me wearing anything but your gear!) And I found one last week (or rather, it found me) that I gotta tell you about.

It’s called L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Anti-Age Serum, $24.95 and it is SO. FRICKEN. CLEVER. It’s a lipstick, right, but it has collagen and Pro-Xylane (found in L’Oreal’s Genesis anti-aging skincare range) running through the middle of the lipstick. It’s one of those, why didn’t someone think of that before?, inventions. (Like those awesome leather holsters you can pop on your belt to hold your mobile phone). It’s a very creamy, non-drying texture (that would be due to the the, wait for it, “serum inside") and being all lovely and smooth and not shiny but not matte, and very soft on the lips is the perfect introduction to lipstick for those who are traditionally gloss kids. There is even a clear lid so you can… clearly see the colour you’re buying.

But, even more exciting is that, and sorry to sound brutal L’Oreal, but up until now, your colours haven’t been, well, that fun in the lipstick arena. But now you have not one but TWO candy pinks (one lovely and musky, one a little more fuschia) AND a coral. And as I mentioned before, I’m a little bit into musk pink and coral lips right now, if by ‘little’ you mean ‘ginormously’.

It’s a great day for lips, and it’s a great day for L’Oreal Paris and it’s a great day for anyone who just won a couple of thou on a Scratchie too, probably. How ironic that a lipstick created specifically for women over 40 (hence the anti-aging properties) will be a smash with the 20 year old trendy kids. (It’s on sale this month, and I think it’s $24.95, but let me confirm that....)

Here is me wearing Freshly Candy, which is the shade I love best....

... because it makes my lips look like these cuties.

And that is obviously a Good Thing.
Will you be sassing candy lips? (Knowing you, you are already. You’re such a pioneer!)

Is it long wearing?
I have some long wear lipsticks, but they are very drying.
The hydrating ones, always come off so quickly..please tell me this one’s a winner!

Well Primped is just inspiration city today. I am going to wear this pink lippy, a whole lot of black eyeliner, and a 60’s style head scarf, as suggested by ecb. Way to make my day :)
