Abbie Cornish’s new ‘Suffer In Your Jocks, Ryan’ hairstyle: Wow.
Nothing says “I’m over you” to your ex-boyfriend than hiring a Monster truck and gleefully driving over his car, or in the case of Miss ABBIE CORNISH (who recently split up with one RYAN PHILLIPPE) chopping all your hair off, dying it gigablonde and wearing a spectacular red dress (and a saucy smirk) down the red rug.
Check it.

I think she looks all of these things:
Beautiful.
Confident.
Sexy.
Alluring.
Chic.
Stylish.
Vibrant.
Way hotter than when she was with Mr PHILLIPE.
Oh sure, the whole breakup makeover is textbook stuff, but let us not forget that textbooks exist because they know stuff you don’t know but should, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with the fact so many of us refer to the chapter on the When You Become Single Do Something Drastic To Your Hair, Quick! when we morph from a double into a single.
I’ve definitely done it. My hairdresser for this angsty scissors expedition was Dario Cotroneo, (inventor of MYCURL and outstanding dry-hair cutter) who, in an act of professionalism I highly commend, categorically forbid me to do the Big Chop whilst I was feeling gnarly, (he says the same to all freshly single women, and with good reason) and refused to do it. So we did a half-way chop, and I got used to the idea, and applied some metaphysical arnica to my emotional cuts, and then a week later was back in chair demanding he finish the bloody job thank you very much.
I loved that dingin’ hair cut…
Anyway. I think Miss CORNISH looks the finest and foxiest she has ever looked, even though at the time I may have said the same of this photo, from Cannes last year…

Still gorgeous, and very pretty, but her new look is just so elegant and refined and… so.... ogle-worthy.
Do you like her Suck On That, Ryan, haircut?
Have you ever done the breakup hair change?

i went from long blonde locks to a brown bob - cried all the way home (more than i ever did over the boy)....but then got used to it and love it!
i think it’s partly F-you to the ex but mainly about fresh start. And it’s interesting, different hair style/colour attracts different men!

Yup, have done the post break up chop - my wise hairdresser advised me to keep the length but cut in a fringe, and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to my large-ish forehead!

I wholly believe in the healing power of a good Breakover. Mad props to Abbie.

Kudos to Abbie. I had a dramatic change when I broke up with my boyfriend. Dyed my locks a honey caramel and cut it into the shorter style that Poppy Lifton had on Gossip Girl.
