I know, that was quite a lot of information for one heading, but I wanted to generate some pretty stratospheric excitement levels. Because this be BIG. Like, PRINCE HARRY and MADONNA eloping in Vegas, big.

For once, I will try to hold off on the waff and just serve up the facts. (I will also be serving up the fax, with a lovely broccoli and pomegranate foam and a side of parsnip fries.)

Kay. So, the PRIMPED Lookbook.

We’ve created a delicious little magazine, which tells you all the biggest beauty trends in hair, makeup, skin for spring/summer 09-10. Also included are the most exciting and interesting and efficient and my-life-or-at-least-my-bathroom-shelf-will-be-at-least-78%-more-wonderful-if-that-little-product-belongs-to-me, products, all of which can be found in David Jones, because David Jones are our partner in this little venture.

I know, I know, a website creating a magazine - usually it’s the other way around! But I shouldn’t need to remind you that on the totally out-there and wacky side of things, PRIMPED sits closer to the COURTNEY LOVE end of the scale, than the CARLA BRUNI end. And yes, after almost a year and a half out of print, it was comforting to know I can still “do magazine”. On, you know, paper. On that, I wish to say that the whole team here at PRIMPED - and remember, these are online folk - were just incredible.

This Lookbook of ours is special and precious. Part of this stems from the fact it is printed on solid gold bullets* and also that it is not widely available (by definition, things that are not available to everyone immediately become more valuable, as Paris Hilton repeatedly proves with her love, and Chanel with their handbags.) No, the Lookbook is only available in selected David Jones department stores - Bondi Junction and Elizabeth Street in Sydney, Bourke St in Melbourne and Queen’s Plaza, Brisbane - and only for the month of September. (Or, wait for it, “until stocks last.")

If you cannot get into these stores to pick up a copy, too bad, so sad. HAHA! Man, it’s FUN to be mean, isn’t it? Of course, I jest - if you cannot get into these stores, or you can get in there but they have all gone by the time you shimmy in, in your fancy sunglasses and your sexy lipgloss, you can download the Lookbook from PRIMPED.com.au.

There will be some instore action to accompany the Lookbook’s birth. I will be prancing around in the David Jones’ stores mentioned above, walking and talking a select few through my Top Ten picks on the cosmetic floor, in relation to all the stuff I wrote/made up about the big trends for spring. Only TWENTY people can attend each instore, because I insisted on making my instore more ‘Pied Piper of PRIMPED’, weaving throughout the store like some kind of cosmetic-loving conga line, annoying customers and causing a ruckus, and less ‘Stand on Stage With a Mic Talking.’ Still can’t believe DJ’s are letting me do it by the way. (Sadly they did put their foot down at the suggestion of a flute and some convivial rats.) It’s going to be wonderfully enjoyable stuff.

The instores (which are free) will occur on the following dates, each with two sessions, one at 6.30 and 7.30 pm. (Making a total of FORTY guests for each store.)

Elizabeth St, Sydney - Thursday September 10
Bourke St, Melbourne - Friday September 11
Westfield Bondi Junction - Thursday September 17
Queen’s Plaza, Brisbane - Friday, September 25.

Handy hint: The instores will be fun, but the goody bags kindly donated by our beauty friends will be EPIC.

If you are keen to come along, I aggressively suggest you log onto PRIMPED this Friday morning at 9am-ish, which is when my blog will go live asking for registration. First in, first massively served.
