L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival + Rae Morris =…

I’m down in Melbawesome! Wheeeeee! I do so love this city. Love Brizland too, especially when I get to do sweet David Jones instores there for the Look Book and have delightful girls wearing incredible lipstick and taupe nail polish come along and be interested in whatever dribble falls from my mouth. But back to Victoria. I’m down here for L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, which, if you live down here, is worth trying to get along to see, mostly because the hair and makeup have been created by some of the (literally) finest in the biz. ... more

How To: The Real Slick, Real High Bun, Twist or Top…

There has been a fall in the last few days, and happily, it wasn’t me and a flight of steps that were involved. No, I’m referring to falling in love, and the object of that love? Kites. Have you ever flown one? WOW. Oh and also we all fell in love with real slick, real high buns, knots and twists. Here’s how it’s done.... more

How To: Do your makeup and hair when you wear White…

I’m not a massive white wearer, but not because I don’t want to be - it’s just that I have a special disorder, in which any food or beverage in a 10m radius will somehow find its way to my outfit, as though I am some kind of big, white magnet. The only other reason I can think of would be that I have these eerie micro-naps in the middle of eating my lunch and when I wake up, there is oil or tomato sauce on my top. Failing that, I am a pig who can not be trusted to wear Grown Up clothes. Whatever. Miss KATE BOSWORTH is clearly free of all these problems, and carries off a glamorous white dress - at night no less - with aplomb. And her hair and makeup complements it beautifully. Let’s examine how it was achieved.

How To: perform a Fake Blow Dry when you have zero…

Sing if you know the words: You went to bed thinking your hair was clean enough for tomorrow. No wash required. However, as you sleep, a band of rogue hair-greasing monkey leprechauns steal in and trickle oil into your scalp and then sit on it, ensuring it is entirely flat and no matter how much you try to style it, it will just look shit.... more

How To: Agyness Deyn’s fresh berry-red lips

The jury is out: when asked which celebrity red lip you preferred, you voted for Aggy Deyn and her flushed, glossy, fresh red lip over Diane Kruger’s punchy, matte fire-engine red stylings. So! As promised, here’s your How To: Just in time for the weekend.... more

How To: Sandra Bullock’s Masterful Proposal Ponytail.…

There’s something lovable about lil Sandy Bullock, isn’t there. I think she’s very attractive, but I also think she’s very funny, (ever seen her doing interviews on the red carpet?) and quite a good actress, making her what we in the biz call a “triple threat.” But, then, I know people who think she’s dull and always plays the same character. And I also know some people who find her so ‘meh’ that they are entirely indifferent to her, and in fact, if they were to read this intro, would have already stopped by now, which means I can write offensive things about them, like the fact they never clean their ear wax and it’s really off, but they would never know I said that about them, such is the power of Sandra’s middle-of-the-roadness.... more

How To: Audrey Tautou in Coco Avant Chanel

I saw this film, (translation, ‘Coco before Chanel’) the other night and loved it so much that I intend to spend much of Sunday finding a wonderful, stylish, crisp white shirt so that I may emulate CC’s signature man-style look, which when you see the movie will understand how it originated. (Chanel ain’t all pearls and pink blazers, sugar.) ... more

How To: Not wear a fringe

Rumer Willis, I’m not going to pick on you for how you looked on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. I loved your dress, for example. And that is one delicious shade of red hair. And, I think your combining the deep, tree/elf greens within your one-shouldered Emilio Pucci dress against said red hair was inspired, especially against your pale skin. However.... more
