I don’t even have to call for my Twuestions these days, they just arrive magically. Today’s is from Rachel AKA brightsidelover, who wants to know how the heck to get rid of post-pimple scars. And the answer is NOT what you think it will be.... more

Last week I had a real a-hole of a pimple and for some reason, my usual Beauty Editor know-all shit was not cutting it. This guy had a heartbeat. And it wasn’t concealing and it wasn’t healing and I knew there was still gross stuff that needed to come out before it would heal. But I got him with a prod I’d up until now never used but always heard great things about. And I hope all his friends got the message. Don’t mess round with my chin. I’ll take you out like a take away pad Thai from a well-priced and tasty Thai restaurant.

I think we’re all bored of my Italian tales (me included, so ciao, Italy; yassou Greece!) so maybe I do a Real Life beauty post today, instead of posting pictures of me and telling you should copy my eye liner. Speaking of eye liner (smooooooth as a Ken doll), here’s a Twuestion concerning just such things.... more

(You actually said no such thing, but I thought it sounded better if I pretended I was over here for you instead of for me. I come off as more generous that way, and generosity is generally perceived as a very positive trait. As opposed to lying and accusing. Which I would never do. Cept for just now when I lied about you accusing me.)... more

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, (’ssup Rihanna; hey Elton) you will know about my deep and ongoing love for bright lipstick. It’s the fastest way to look ‘done’ in my opinion, and cheats your face into freshness and out of hangovers/no sleep with the ease of a babydoll top making you look five months pregnant. Now, while the lip itself isn’t anything new, I do offer you a new way to do it that keeps it looking modern, as opposed to vintage and kind of Mad Men-y. ... more

And it doesn’t even involve the eye shadow or liner. At all. Just concealer and a concealer brush. Oh, trust me, guys, this is GENIUS. You may finally nail that tricky little winged eye look! And all without changing the way you apply eye liner or eye shadow. I know! Fabtacular.... more

Oooh, I do so enjoy when Victoria stops being so secretive and lets her models out to prance around on pink carpets. They always nail that specific brand of Fresh, Sexy, Natural hair and makeup. To the point where I am beginning to wonder if there is a stencil titled VICS RULEZ given to each of the makeup and hair artists before they razzledazz up the girls which stipulates the girls must look glamorous but accessible, gorgeous but not too made up and hint at the fact that despite the fact they are definitely supermodels, they might just be the nicest girls you ever met. (And live next door. And walk around in sexy pajamas all the time.)... more

I popped onto The Circle yesterday and talked about my fave bestest makeup items for under 25 clams. It was a viewer question that inspired me, and look, if there’s one thing I know about viewers, it’s that they are the same as readers and users and they LOVE knowing about high-val beauty options. To this I say: LET THEM EAT CAKE! (AND WEAR GREAT LIPSTICK WHILE DOING SO!)... more

Sometimes I learn a little insider hair trick that makes my brain pause for a second, and get its brain pen and brain notepad out and write a little note to itself saying: Blog this trick. This SAME trick happened THREE times to me lately, and I still forgot to blog it, so my brain got its little brain siren out today and blasted its little ass off. And so, the insider hair trick....... more

If you let your haircut grow completely out of its shape, you’re really letting your face down. This is assuming your cut was created to accentuate your facial features (jawline, cheekbones, eyes) which a good haircut indeed should, and most do. And so, to let it grow out of this shape (drastically, I mean we get a little busy and miss hair appointments occasionally, don’t we) you’re not only not doing your face any favours, you’re actively subtracting favours from it. ... more
