I don’t even have to call for my Twuestions these days, they just arrive magically. Today’s is from Rachel AKA brightsidelover, who wants to know how the heck to get rid of post-pimple scars. And the answer is NOT what you think it will be.... more

Do you sometimes get sick of every cuisine? When it comes to making a meal, or being made a meal, or ordering take away, or going out for a meal you don’t feel like ANY OF IT. Italian, Japanese, Thai, Pizza, Mexican, fish, salad, soup… it’s all boring. You want something new and exciting to eat! Or at the very least something that you know you love, but with a thrilling new angle! And you definitely wish to use exclamation marks to express your frustration!... more

I don’t think I have been so inspired and enthralled by a woman’s beauty since I was a little girl watching mum get dressed up in one of her (made it myself, thankyouverymuch) tight, skivvy-necked mini-dresses back in 1986. But CHRISTINA HENDRICKS has got me. She’s got me good. She makes me want to sit on the floor and coo compliments up at her as she elegantly clips her earrings in, half-smiling at her reflection, radiating femininity and glamour and confidence in a way that is fabulously untouchable, yet so very warm and inviting. God she’s amazing. Here’s why.... more

This wasn’t even meant to BE a Twuestion day, but when faced with such a great, (albeit unprovoked) Twitter beauty question regarding an area so many of us suffer confusion over, there was no way in Helsinki I wasn’t going to pop and squeeze an answer out. (Sorry.) (Grosso.)... more

I effing love when Miss BARRYMORE has a new movie out, because her many red carpety looks provide so much inspiration for us, or at the very least me, or at the very most, everyone in the whole world. Here she is trotting off to chat to Mr. DAVE LETTERMAN looking super-casual-but-dressed-up-too, in a fancy glittery bronze top and some very smart black slacks. And how has she done her hair? In pigtails? No. And how has she done her makeup? Geisha style? No. God you’re a goose sometimes. Why would you say such things?... more

I mean it. What’s the point of doing all that fancy skin, hair and makeup work if you don’t take a few moments to admire your handiwork? There was a makeup brand I used to love called Tony & Tina (sadly now all finished) and they had a whole book dedicated to colour and vibrational energy and how that works with the colours you choose to wear in your makeup and how important positive energy is to feeling authentically beautiful, but they also had this one pager that I stuck on my wall that encouraged you to treat you makeup routine like a ritual of self-love, and with each thing you chose to accentuate on your face, to really love it and be grateful for it as you made it up.... more

Here’s why: Because a quality blow dry is an art form and if it’s done right, it will last for many many days, each of which you will feel like one million euro. Having your hair styled with irons or stylers on the other hand… is that so special?... more

Just as your frizz fighting starts at the shampoo. In fact, pretty much anything you want in your Final Hair Result will need to commence the moment you squeeze out shampoo onto your hand. Volume and body ‘specially. Trust me! Ya gotta! I’m the best stinkin’ second-hand car salesman in the area!... more

Of course, it helps if you look like you don’t have a heartbeat before you use it, as opposed to literally not having a heartbeat, because I am not a specialist in funeral home makeup, although that is an actual profession, you know. I wonder if they use moisturiser before they apply the makeup? Or primer? Seriously. I do.... more
