Newbies: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense and Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes

I don’t think I need to rave about how much I love Clinique Chubbies. But I will anyway because I really do adore each and every aspect of them. From the fun jumbo-sized crayon barrel (it slots right into my makeup bag and spare pockets) to the smooth, creamy texture which not only makes my lips look good – cue a a burst of fresh, juicy colour – but also feel good, too, thanks to the uber-hydrating ingredients like shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil.
So as you can imagine, here at PRIMPED we were more than a little excited to hear that Chubbies were about to get a whole lot more intense. That’s right, Primpers, Clinique have released the Chubby Stick Intense Moisturising Lip Colour Balm, with the new formula enriched with more pigment for a highly saturated finish, but still starring the original nourishing ingredients to keep your pout pampered throughout the day and night.
Application and the longevity factor are still much the same; they are buildable, working up from a subtle stain to a full-blown wash of pigment with a balm-like finish. There are also eight new shades available, from a creamy neutral (Curviest Caramel) to gorgeous berry and reds, including Heftiest Hibiscus, a vibrant orange-red coral.
In other exciting Chubby news, meet the new Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes:
Encased in the same crayon-like case, the Shadow Tint for Eyes has a soft, creamy formula enriched with vitamin E, and provides a wash of sheer, yet buildable colour. Personally, what I love most is how it has made applying colour on my lids a cinch, particularly for when I don’t have hours to spend in front of the mirror – they’re ideal for the girl on the go.
The wind-up tube glides on like a dream over the lids, and while I could rave about all of the 12 colours available, ranging from soft nudes to pink, greens and purple, I have to give special mention to Ample Amber, a shimmering bronze and Whomping Willow, a rich, deep gold. While you can wear them as a swipe of liner, they’re also perfect for creating a spectrum of colour combinations by layering different shades, or using more than one Chubby to create a variation on a traditional smoky eye. The secret is to use an eyeshadow brush to blend the colours before they set, because once they do, they set in for the long run.
Details: The Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturising Lip Colour Balm, $35, and the Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes, $35, are available from June 30th from department stores.
