Make your eyes sparkle

Primpers, I’d like you to take a pretty moment to reflect on this you-beaut shot of Victoria Justice. She may be a newbie on the red carpet circuit, but so far, she’s nailing it in the makeup department. The hint of beige and silver on the inner corners of her eyes and candy pink lip and cheek combo is as classic as it is pretty. If you’re looking for a foolproof makeup look, you’ve come to the right place.
Golden skin + dove grey eye shadow + super straight hair = red carpet perfection.
Here’s how to make it happen:
1. Start with a your base. For a well-rested-looking glow, start with a dewy foundation to play up the shimmery eye shadow. Finish off your base by covering any dark circles or redness around the nose and cheeks with a hint of concealer. Try: Maybelline NY SuperStay Concealer, $14.95.
Clever tip: Don’t forget to blend your foundation across the eyelids. It’s a super fast way to conceal any red or blue undertones in the skin and it gives the eye shadow something extra to bind too.
2. Mix ‘n match: For a fresh change from safe-neutral shadows, try blending a soft dove grey or mauve eye shadow up to the mid-section of the eyelid, before layering a gold or silver shadow on the inner corners to make the eyes pop.
3. Line and Define: The beauty of a grey eye shadow is that you can afford to go to town with your liner and lashes, without looking too over the top. Start by blending a kohl liner along the top and bottom lash line before sealing the deal with two coats of a volumising mascara. If you’ve got a few extra minutes (and a steady hand) up your sleeves, roll with a few falsies on the outer corners of the eye for added definition. We like: L’Oreal Paris Contour Kohl Eyeliner, $14.95.
4. Look pretty in pink: For a natural-looking flush of colour, gently blend a soft pink blush-creme on the apples of the cheeks, building the colour up toward the outer corners of the eyes. Unlike a powder, blush cremes are foolproof to blend, and leave skin with a bonus dewy finish. Finish with a slick of pink gloss – preferably one that’s packed with teeny-tiny sparkles to play up the light. Check out: Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss – High Shine Sheer Concentrate, $46.
