Anne Hathaway Takes Control of her Short Hair and Big Features

Earlier this year, Anne Hathaway was quoted as saying she cried like a “mental patient” when her long hair was chopped off for her role in Les Misérables.
But this is her in the December issue of US Vogue: “I love the short-haired lifestyle …I’m turning 30, and – I hope this isn’t too obnoxious to say – I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now.”
And going by this photo, from the New York premiere of Les Mis …
… it does indeed seem that Ms Hathaway feels pretty damn confident about her looks. I mean, this is no shrinking violet of a look, right?
But so she should feel fabulous. Anne’s short hair allows her strong features to really pop out and take centre stage. As in, thick, lush arches, big doe eyes framed with a flutter of lashes, and one sensational set of super-sized lips.
Speaking of which, I have total lip envy going on right now. I didn’t realise that Anne was so blessed in the pout department. Perhaps because she rarely wears such a dark colour. And, of course, if ever there were a time to lavish lips in oxblood, it’s now.
But let’s just go back to that hair.
Here’s a profile shot:
I love how she hasn’t gone the usual cute, pixie route that most short-haired stars take. Oh no, this is one serious femme fatale style of a hair ‘do. With that gel-slicked crown, she almost looks like she’s wearing a little leather helmet.
It’s all a little 50 Shades, wouldn’t you say?
Especially when you zoom down to …
Ahem. At least she didn’t add blood-red nails. That would have really made me blush.
What do you think, Primpers, do you like Anne’s dominatrix new style?
