3 of the most wearable makeup trends from New York Fashion Week A/W to try.

Yikes! If you blinked, you probably missed it, because just like that New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season. So, in-case you couldn’t make it to the shows because you know… you had important stuff on, like… painting your nails this season’s latest shade of green and getting the groceries, here are a few treat-sized beauty bites.

Unlike previous seasons, there was no room for whacky pink eye shadow or painted hair. Instead, the hair and makeup at New York Fashion Week was all very practical and wearable. Think rows of pony tails (high, low and mostly slick) subtle flicks of liquid liner here and there, all paired with ridiculously dewy, beyond even-looking skin, all of which translates to: incredibly easy to create and maintain makeup ideas for you to ace.

Before we begin, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the perfection that is this model’s skin at Calvin Klein.

To get in on the act, try blending a liquid highlighter (I love Revlon) above the brow bone, below the brow, the centre of the eyelid and the inner corner of the eye, followed by the top of the cheek bone. It’s that easy.

So pretty, the makeup at Ralph Lauren reminded us a tad of Kate Moss. It’s all about the dewy based, mixed with a wash of soft pink on the cheeks and a slick of uncomplicated liquid liner that follows the natural curvature of the eye with a teeny tiny flick at the end for kicks.

And last but not least, the part navy, a little bit purple, a whole lot gloss smoky eye seen at L’Wren Scott.

Hot tip: a You’ve probably heard makeup artists explain how they blend clear gloss on the centre of the lids to create a wet-looking finish, but I suggest you leave that option to the pros and try blending the tiniest amount of hair wax with your eye shadow instead for similar shine, minus the mess.

Tell me Primpettes…

Are you digging any of these looks?

Have you ever tried the hair wax + eye shadow trick?

Could you make a video on these trendy wearable make up looks please?

I love all three looks, the models look absolutely gorgeous. I have never used hair wax/eyeshadow but it does make sense.

Im do glad they’re back to being practical.. If only for the season.. It’s hard being able to play with beauty trends in a formal, conservative office!
You ladies are doing such a fantastic job. I swear, your Blush Hour bite size beauty snacks get me through the day.

My fave would be the second look – quite natural and simple.

My fav is the second. The wet shadow look is my least…why a wet look?

love the skin of calvin klein and the eye makeup of ralph lauren! the last pic is way to dark and ott, but i guess ok for a catwalk!

I like the second and third look as the focus is mainly on the eyes. The eye makeup looks very simplistic and beautiful.

I love the dewy skin, no non-sense makeup. I absolutely love the practicality it.

In today’s world where you just about to change your face without going under the knife, just look at some Asian chicks, it’s just not who there are.

I am always a fan of clean, ‘real’, practical makeup. Eyeliner… God, it’s really God send!

Love all three looks, the second one has the most gorgeous eyes

Not keen on the last look, as my eyes are small and it would only make them look smaller. Otherwise, all the other looks are great!

Look 2 is wonderful, very chic and I love the eye liner flick.
