For the Love of the Sun

It is the time of the year where people are more inclined to frolic in the beach, do more outdoor activities and fall asleep on the grass in the park. Yes, it is the time of the year we* all love. The heat, the warmth of the sun on our skin, bright sunny days and the extended sun light hours are what everyone looks forward to all year round.  ... more

How To: Get a sexy décolletage

  • Category:

I know what I did this summer. I fixated on my breasts.  Or should I say décolletage (ie: fancy French word for boobs and surrounding anatomical neighborhood)

Golden Globes How To: Get Heidi’s Klum’s complexion…

  • Category:

Heidi Klum is a dab-hand at many things; red carpet loping, blind-folded nappy changing, copious ‘Auf Wiedersehen-ing’ and great sex with her husband (The last is up for conjecture. I bags not asking her if it’s true). ... more

Congested Much? Skincare To Beat The Heat

As I sit here waiting for my morning coffee to kick in I absentmindedly run my fingers across my forehead and realise that I am really very much annoyed with my skin. After living the best part of the last decade in air conditioning my skin has suddenly gone into what I can only refer to as a complete ‘spaz attack’. ... more

Some Simple Science

I have a friend. Let’s call her Dee. She has beautiful olive skin, brown hair and brown eyes. When she wears an oriental fragrance, like say, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique, it smells incredible. When I, fair skinned and blonde, wear the same one, it’s borderline disaster. However when I wear Estee Lauder’s flower-power scent, Beautiful Love, it settles beautifully, whereas on Dee it turns ever so slightly rancid. But, I hear you all asking, why? The answer to this inordinately complicated riddle is simple; different skin types react to different fragrances … differently.

Does hot weather make you want to chuck your entire…

Oh my God! Melbourne just had the most scorching week ever. It feels like we are in the middle of summer right now (and I’m pretty sure the rest of Australia feels the heat too). When all the magazine and beauty gurus tell us about switching our skincare and makeup products when the seasons change, they’re not just saying that to make us buy more stuff - they have a point. ... more

A few of my favourite things

Let’s face it; we all love to read about what other people’s favourite products are because most likely, if it works for them, it could work for us.

My first ever skincare confession: A journey with painful…

Today, I will be ranting about something that is very close to my heart and something that I rarely share with other people. Maybe some of you can relate. I had my first pimple at the tender age of 8. Strictly speaking, I had pretty bad skin, growing up with moderate to severe acne. Papules, pustules, cysts, nodules, acne scars, enlarged pores & blackheads were the constant foes I had to battle. This is one of the reasons why I got interested in skincare at a very young age. ... more

Would you like a burger with that body treatment?

When you head off an indulgent spa-kinda holiday, you don’t usually think of New York, do you? Those green-tea-drinkin’, steam-bath-loungin’ retreats tend to be in exotic places like Bali and the Maldives, or some quaint little village in the south of France. New York is more about competitive shopping, late-night bar hopping, and trying to ignore the stench of garbage lapping at the curb. However! We do have spas—lots of ’em. And when you think about it, what could be better than treating your sore little tootsies to a foot massage after a shameless splurge at Bergdorf’s, or escaping all those bloody taxi horns by slipping into a peaceful, Zen oasis to bob about in a plunge pool for an hour or two? ... more

Stop Gap Sally

Cameron and her star arms

Some girls just seem to catch all the breaks don’t you think? Take Cameron Diaz for instance; not only is she very good-looking and very well paid, she also has incredibly good arms. I know, I know, she works at it, but have you stopped to take in just how buff they are lately? Well I have, and it’s got me thinking that a little definition wouldn’t go astray in my own limbs, especially with spring just around the corner and all those lovely dresses going in-store as I type. ... more
