Ponikuta’s Ten (ish) Beauty Commandments

I am sure everyone has their own little set of rules when it comes to beauty. God knows I have more than a little set of rules that I follow religiously. In fact, I name them my beauty commandments. Let me share with you ten of them, the ones that have survived the test of time and which I’m pretty sure most beauty writers would agree with. (Ed’s note: Yes. We would.)

I’ve got my eyes set on you

I love a little radiance on my skin and since light-reflecting properties have popped up in loads of skincare and makeup products in the past few seasons, I am not alone.

A few of my favourite things

Let’s face it; we all love to read about what other people’s favourite products are because most likely, if it works for them, it could work for us.

My first ever skincare confession: A journey with painful…

Today, I will be ranting about something that is very close to my heart and something that I rarely share with other people. Maybe some of you can relate. I had my first pimple at the tender age of 8. Strictly speaking, I had pretty bad skin, growing up with moderate to severe acne. Papules, pustules, cysts, nodules, acne scars, enlarged pores & blackheads were the constant foes I had to battle. This is one of the reasons why I got interested in skincare at a very young age. ... more

The Complete Down Low of Facial Cloth Masks (FCM)

Facial Cloth Masks (FCMs) are not uncommon in most parts of Asia because of their convenience, cooling effect from the hot weather and availability. FCMs in Australia, however, are quite a rare commodity. This will make you go crazy and lose your makeup

Recently, I went on a skin diet. Basically, it involves no makeup and bare skin for a period of time (for me, it was only makeup once a week) and to be honest the prospect of having no makeup on my skin is no longer a daunting thought because I am more confident with my bare skin than I have ever been. And of course, beautiful skin doesn’t appear overnight. I for one, have Zelens Skin Science to be thankful for.... more

Ponikuta finds a wondorous body oil that reduces her…

I will be the first one to admit, I have been neglecting my body for the longest time. One of my beauty resolutions for 2009 was to start paying attention to my body. Consequently, during one of my many hunts for body products I stumbled upon this fantastic product just in time for winter skin.... more

Product review: Ponikuta “I love YSL makeup.”…

Ponikuta, like many of us, loves a bit of razzle dazzle in her makeup kit. The more luxe, the more limited edition, the more envy-inspiring, the more designer, the more..... YSL, the better. Hey, we’re not going to argue with that. She talks us through her favourites from the iconic makeup (and fashion) house. And GUESS WHAT? No mention of Touche Eclat. (Merde!)... more
