shu uemura was a man ahead of his time. A true visionary and makeup artist in every sense of the word, shu set about building his empire in 1958. Inspired by nature, science and art, the brand is known for its tops makeup, skincare, tools and of course, lashes. Their lash bars are also a massive hit worldwide, with the first one in Australia just opening its doors in David Jones Sydney City. Madonna's now infamous diamond encrusted false lashes were created by Gina Brooke, Artistic Director for shu uemura, and now, Mads raves about both Gina and the brand. In fact, pretty much the whole of Hollywood are wearing shu uemura lashes when they walk down the red carpet, and if not, we hazard a guess their natural lashes were curled by one of shu's amazing lash curler. The brand also collaborated with Viktor & Rolf, who designed a range of limited edition lashes last year. This year, Mika Ninagawa, a fabulous Japanese photographer, has worked with the brand to create a quirky but wearable Christmas range. Tougher than the skin of an alligator to choose, we'd have to say the cleansing oil is the most popular product shu has on offer. Closely followed by the eyelash curler and any of the amazing lashes under the shu umbrella.
