                                    <p>And it&#8217;s very serendipitous which type of lipstick they all wore because it&#8217;s the new <a href="http://www.primped.com.au/product_finder/product/makeup/makeup_lips/lipstick/rouge_coco" title="Chanel Rouge Coco">Chanel Rouge Coco</a>, which goes on sale Monday, and is, I think, (and at risk of copping wrath from die hard Rouge Allure fans) Chanel&#8217;s finest lipstick yet. The criteria for such a bold statement? It&#8217;s lightweight, comfortable, sheer  but very buildable and the colours are REAL fresh and I believe a wonderful lipstick for those previously only interested in lip gloss. (The <i>one</i> downside is that some of the shades have a hint of frosty.) Plus, it looks rad when you pull it out of your handbag. Let&#8217;s be honest.

I do hope so. And the instores to complement said Look Book of loveliness, well they kick off this Friday night in Brisbane. Pretty much all instores are full, but there are some with spots vacant and should you be free at those times, well no offense, but you&#8217;d be stupid to not come along, learn stuff and get a bag of incredimazing loot.

                                    <p>You know how you think of say, DITA VON TEESE and you can instantly imagine what her hair and makeup will be like? (FIlled-in, arched brows, winged liner, red lips, ebony &#8216;40s style waves), well, same thing is happening with Balmain, whose runway shows seem to always feature the same soft, gently-bedhead centre-parts and nude, healthy makeup. Yves Saint Laurent (or more accurately, their creative director, Val Garland) on the other hand, are having <i>way</i> too much fun with all that glorious makeup they create to settle for natural faces. Rightly so.

                                    <p>They really do! It wouldn&#8217;t be offensive at all to not score an invite to the actual ceremony and only the after party, because you still get to dress up and look incredible and hang out with MERYL STREEP and SEAN PENN and KEVIN (the bird from UP) but you don&#8217;t have to get all stressed about all that terrifying presenting and red carpet stuff. Win. Here <i>isn&#8217;t</i> a large photo of a baby elephant, but is a couple of the most glorious-looking birds from the after parties.

And my LAWD, there is surely no bigger spotlight than the humongous metaphorical one that shrouds the Academy Awards red carpet. And you know, not every actress is automatically awesome at being under the glare of 4268 cameras and wearing slinky frocks and posing, despite it being &#8216;part of the job&#8217; when they star in enormously successful (KRISTEN STEWART, <i>Twilight)</i> or critically acclaimed films (Miss CAREY MULLIGAN, An Education), and them looking stunningly beautiful.

And nothing like the biggest red carpet even of the year to prove it, ay bro. Here are a few of the Big Names wearing a delicate-yet-punchy fuchsia pink lipstick, some matching it with their dress, some absolutely not, but in each case, I think you&#8217;ll agree Miss SANDRA BULLOCK (Blindside), Miss VEGA FARMIGA (Up in The Air) and Miss MAGGIE GYLLENHAL all pull of bright lips with class and sass.

                                    <p>Occasionally a runway hairstyle slinks in from left field and gently blows my socks off. Which is kind of why I stopped wearing them, if they can&#8217;t stay on in times of mass excitement, frankly, I don&#8217;t want them. Anyway. So Japanese designer Tsumori Chisato has created the most beautiful, interesting, romantic, futuristic-yet-organic updo I&#8217;ve seen the whole A/W collections. Check it.
