I have just landed in Perth (first time! cherry popped!) and I have to say that three hour time change has knocked me off my little perch. I’ve been unperched in Perth. And I can see why you’d ask for it: it’s an absolute triumph. Part romantic and beautiful, part cool-kid quiff and part fashion-forward braid, I can’t pretend for one second that this will be a cinch to pull off, but I will pretend I am double-parked if it means I will get my coffee quicker at a takeaway coffee joint.

So, last night was the Grazia show, which was hellercool, and the makeup and hair did wonderful things for the attire, because a lot of it was very intricate, and the fresh eyes and simple lip and modern, teased updo suited every single one.

I’m down in Melbawesome! Wheeeeee! I do so love this city. Love Brizland too, especially when I get to do sweet David Jones instores there for the Look Book and have delightful girls wearing incredible lipstick and taupe nail polish come along and be interested in whatever dribble falls from my mouth. But back to Victoria. I’m down here for L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, which, if you live down here, is worth trying to get along to see, mostly because the hair and makeup have been created by some of the (literally) finest in the biz.

I do love Mr KARL LAGERFELD’s runway shows. He seems to be one of the only designers left who does his creative starjumps before putting together his show. At the sping/summer 2010 collections, you may recall the Chanel show was done in a barn. A cool, sexy barn, where all the models wore $4000 dresses. In Paris this week, Mr LAGERFELD went for an icier feel. Literally - the catwalk was framed in a giant iceberg (made of snow and ice ‘ “snice” imported from Sweden) and the models walked on faux ice. So cool. Literally.

And it’s very serendipitous which type of lipstick they all wore because it’s the new Chanel Rouge Coco, which goes on sale Monday, and is, I think, (and at risk of copping wrath from die hard Rouge Allure fans) Chanel’s finest lipstick yet. The criteria for such a bold statement? It’s lightweight, comfortable, sheer but very buildable and the colours are REAL fresh and I believe a wonderful lipstick for those previously only interested in lip gloss. (The one downside is that some of the shades have a hint of frosty.) Plus, it looks rad when you pull it out of your handbag. Let’s be honest.

For all my talk of bedhead hair and natural, nude makeup I LOVE a big wallop of eyeshadow and cheekbone and lips, teamed with a polished, smooth, swinging mop. Which is precisely what Chloe served up, in a big camel coat pocket.
